| The principle is that the
repair/connection is made with the aid of a bar that is held in place by screws and nuts
(Fig.1). The thickness of the bar, and primarily the length, determines the stability of
the fracture or connection. A typical case is as
follows: a bridge (Fatigue fracture behind the first stable tooth.) The patient must clench his jaws so that the segments fall into place. Then, using a sticky wax or composite as buccal fixative, the fracture is fixed in the desired position (Fig.2).
