Procedure

Prepare the facing, allowing the connection to the ridge to remain attached to the pontic. Take an impression, preferably hydro-colloidal. I have made the basic material with the help of a Cerec machine, which the technician then fires and colours.

The technician can also make the facing directly, but the use of the Cerec production makes the repair cheaper.

The plastic facing is attached using cold-cured acrylic whilst the ceramic facing is attached using the same technique as when making a ceramic filling, i.e., etching, bonding and dual cement. The ceramic facing is naturally silanised and treated in the usual way by the technician.

I have replaced more than 100 facings with ceramics with excellent results.
